What is EN 31 or 52100 Bearing Steel?

EN 31 steel is a high carbon chrome alloy steel, with superior hardness, 60-67 on Rockwell hardness scale (Rc) at room temperature and is suitable for operating continually at temperatures up to 120°C. EN 31 steel products are widely used for manufacturing high quality precision ball bearings and roller bearings. EN31 steels exhibit high wear resistance and rolling fatigue strength.
